Stained Glass in Wales | Gwydr Lliw yng Nghymru

Charles Powell (1850/51-1934)

Stained glass artist and designer. He was a junior partner in the family firm of Lincoln and London with his brother W.O. Powell. His son Christopher Charles Powell, worked for the firm and was probably responsible for many of their windows from at least the 1920s, as his own work shows continuation of their style. His address in a signature of about 1919 locates him at 70 Claremont Road, Highgate, although in 1930 Charles Powell listed his address as Highgate Studios, 20 Archway Road, London N19.
