Church built as a result of the labours and vision of Fr Francis Scalpell, who came from Malta. Designed n a Romanesque style, the Church of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows was begun in 1963 and opened in September 1966, and consecrated in May 1967. The west doorway is a replica of the Romanesque doorway from Cormack's Chapel on the Rock of Cashel, Ireland.
