J. Silvester Sparrow (1862-1929)


Stained glass artist. James Silvester Sparrow was able to consolidate his own career having made important commissions for other artists, including Walter Crane and Frank Brangwyn. Often using intense and dark colours, he referred to himself as the 'Wagner of stained glass'.
