Church built in 1892 at the expense of the Penrhyn Estate using monies collected in memory of Edward Gordon Pennant, Lord Penrhyn, who died in 1886. The Church of St Cross was designed by Thomas Dinham Atkinson in a Neo-Norman or Romanesque style, perhaps in recognition of the architecture of Penryn Castle.
