about 1853

Four-light window with standing female figures, two of which are accompanied by children; another holds a book. Sacred heraldry in the tracery lights.

size: 50 cm (width of each light) [approx]
firm/studio: Ballantine & Allan

Church of St Digain, Llangernyw, Conwy
south wall of the south transept

Given in memory of Margaret Sandbach (d. 1852) by her husband, Henry Sandbach of Hafodunos. The figure in the left-hand light has been identified by Mark Baker as Margaret Sandbach. She died in 1852, but the window was met with opposition from the vicar, Revd Edward Lloyd Jones, which may have delayed the installation of the window.

The usual figures of Faith, Hope and Charity are accompanied by Brotherly Kindness.
