Abigail and her maidens, with gifts, kneel before David and his men. Scene behind with figures on horseback, before a castle. A roundel above depicts a prophet.

The scene may illustrate that described in 1 Samuel 25:20-35, when Abigail brings food to David's men, or 25:42, where Abigail comes with five maids to be David's wife.
