Christ in the House of Mary and Martha

image not available
1901

Two-light window. Seated figure of Christ opposite Mary (seated) and Martha (standing). A vase of lilies below in the right-hand light, and view through an arch above the head of Christ with a landscape and a walled town on a hill.

Church of St Michael, Manafon, Powys
south wall of the chancel

Text: 'I am the resurrection and the life...' (John 11:25-6).

Given in memory of T.J. Housfield of Glyn Cogen in 1901.

Although the scene depicts Christ teaching Mary and Martha in their house, the text is from Christ's meeting with Martha at the gate of Bethany.
