Church of St Gwenllwyfo, Dulas, Angleseynorth wall of the nave (window number: nIII)
The scene above is part of a depiction of Jacob's ladder, and it was attributed, along with the figures in the cinquefoil of the east window, to Peter van den Houte by Hilary Wayment.
The lower scene is a type of the Transfiguration, which may be the panel from the same collection now at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire. They may therefore have both originated in the Great Cloister of the Charterhouse at Leuven (Louvain), and Wayment attributed them (along with the Raising of Lazarus, also at Llanwenllwyfo) to the master of the Mass of St Gregory. However, the attribution must be regarded as speculative. (ObjectID=1511 ImageID=4472) Original File Name=_MG_7448.jpgRecord added by Martin Crampin. Last updated on 27-04-2018
