Carissima
perhaps 1830s
Single-light window with a nimbed female figure under a Gothic canopy. Angels above and further nimbed figures in niches at the sides.
Church of St Nicholas, Montgomery, Powyssouth wall of the chancel (window number: sII)
The meaning of the window is not clear. The main figure is titled 'Carissima' on her halo, and may suggest an Italian origin of the glass. The style is suggestive of continental work of the nineteenth century. (ObjectID=5139 ImageID=9883) Original File Name=Montgomery_DSC0549_52A.jpgRecord added by Martin Crampin.
