1925

Single-light window with standing figure of Christ, his hand raised in blessing. The scene beneath depicts Christ's feet being dried with the hair of the woman who came to anoint him; the jar is shown in the bottom left.

firm/studio: Powell & Sons (Whitefriars) Ltd
designer: Read

Church of St David, Bangor, Gwynedd
south wall of the sanctuary (window number: sII)

The artist/cartoonist Read is associated with the design according to Dennis Hadley's list of windows made by Powell's from the V&A archive.

Given by Spencer B. Mason in memory of his wife Caroline (died 8 Aug 1925). Text: 'He giveth His beloved sleep.' (Psalm 127:2).

The scene showing Christ being anointed does not seem to be specific to any of the particular accounts in the four gospels.
