The Sower Soweth the Word
1918
Single-light window of the standing figure of the sower. A sheaf of corn, sickle, and the church are shown below with the dedication.
firm/studio: Gamon & HumphryChurch of St Caffo, Llangaffo, Angleseysouth wall of the nave (window number: sIII)
The text at the head of the window 'The sower soweth the Word', is from Mark 4:14.
Dedication: 'Dedicated to the Glory of God and the beloved memory of Richard Williams Prichard by his surviving sister 1918'.
The NADFAS list of Gamon and Humphry windows lists the Prichard memorial window in St Caffo, but there are two unsigned windows given by the Prichard family. The style of the two windows (dated 1916 and 1918) have similarities, the lower panels being very close in design and execution, for example. However, studios often matched the design of existing windows if required and there is a chance that this window may not be by Gamon and Humphry.
