St Cennydd
detail from Christ with St Cenydd and St David
about 1945
Three-light window with standing figures.
size: 30 cm (width of each light) [approx]firm/studio: G. Maile & Sondesigner: F. M. BakerChurch of St Cennydd, Llangennith, Swanseaeast wall of the chancel (window number: I)
Attributed to F.M. Barber in the church guide, citing a date of 1945. The faculty for the window is dated October 1945, and confirms the misreading of F.M. Baker as designer. The cost was estimated at £200. Given the date of the faculty, the window may have been completed in late 1945 or perhaps 1926. Windows that Baker designed were made by Maile & Sons at about this time.
Given in memory of Evan Jenkins (1830-1921), a former churchwarden, by his family. (ObjectID=4286 ImageID=8015) Original File Name=Llangennith_DSC7243.jpgRecord added by Martin Crampin. Last updated on 05-12-2024
