Three-light window. Above, Gabriel (right) greets Mary, a vase of lilies between them and the dove of the Holy Spirit with seraphim above. Below, the body of Christ is laid in the tomb with a group of mourners. Further figures at the top of the window.


firm/studio: Powell & Sons (Whitefriars) Ltd

Cathedral Church of St John Evangelist, Brecon, Powys
east wall of the north transept chapel (Harvard Chapel)

Attributed to Horace Wilkinson with a date of 1929 by Richard Haslam. The lower scene is clearly by Powell's and signed with their mark at the lower right corner. The Annunciation above is by a different designer, but the likelihood is that the whole window is the work of Powell's.
