Text: 'I am the resurrection and the life' (John 11:25).The depiction of Mary, listening to Christ's teaching in the house of Mary and Martha at Bethany (from Luke 10), is unlike the other standing figure depicted in profile as Christ declares himself as the 'resurrection and the life' from Christ's encounter with Martha in John 11:25. In this scene, the standing female figure accords more with the conventional depiction of Mary Magdalene, with long flowing hair. The set of windows is therefore slightly unusual in that the two biblical characters of Mary Magdalene and Mary of Bethany in Luke's gospel are not conflated.
