My daughter has just joined Llandovery College and I have been admiring your beautiful stained glass window there. I wonder if you could explain the symbolism and thinking that inspired your creation. Hope to hear from you soon as I am curious by nature. Mairead

Really glad you enjoy the windows.
The Venables-Llewelyn family wished the artwork to celebrate their long connection with the college but without using heraldry or figuration.
I etched very transparent French mouth-blown glass which brilliantly colours and animates the view of trees beyond. As a youngster the natural world was a thrilling source of great power to me. I wanted to somehow invite the pupils to meditate and partake of that.
Another inspiration that creeps up on me subliminally is classical music. I play Radio Three like wallpaper.
