Five-light window. At either side of the crucified Christ is Mary and John, with further standing figures of the apostles Peter and Paul in the outer lights. Symbols of the evangelists in roundels in the tracery with the Agnus Dei at the apex of the window.

firm/studio: Wailes & Strang

Church of St Elvan, Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff
east wall of the chancel

This window by the firm of William Wailes is one of a relatively small number in the diocese. The window now in the south aisle, of a similar date, is also probably their work.

The window was given in memory of Canon John David Jenkins, who died 7 November 1876 and was vicar of Aberdare, by the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of England, Ireland and Scotland, of which he was president.
