St Elfod and Nennius

Three-light window, with the outer lights mostly consisting of plain glass. The central light depicts a standing figure of Elfod wearing a mitre and holding a staff and cross. A kneeling figure below depicts Nennius holding a book.

Given in memory of William Morris Williams, Priest Canon of St Asaph Cathedral and Vicar of Abergele 1944-55.
Brightly coloured glass with minimal additional painting. The similarity in style to the window designed by the artist nearby at Prestatyn suggests that the window may have been made by Goddard and Gibbs.Elfod was bishop of Bangor in the eighth century and granted land for the building of the church at Abergele.
