What is interesting is that A L Ward was also the artist in stained-glass who designed all of the windows in the King’s College Memorial Chapel, in Auckland, New Zealand (bar two). They are arguably the finest collection of stained-glass in the southern hemisphere. They were commissioned by the then headmaster, Mr Charles Thomas Major in and around 1920 as a Memorial to the young graduates (and several staff members) from the College who fought and died in the First World War.
