Given in memory of Anne Maria Louisa Philips James (died 1877) by her daughter. Anne James was the daughter of John Phillips Laugharne of Orlandon (died 1867).

The female figures holding a cross and anchor are symbolic of the allegorical figures of Faith and Hope, and are usually accompanied by Charity.
