probably eighteenth century

Two painted and stained panels set in coloured glass in a four-light window. One is a figure group and another is Christ with the elements at the Last Supper.

size: 13 x 13 cm (left-hand panel), 17 x 13 cm (right-hand panel)

Church of St Basil, Bassaleg, Newport
south wall of the chancel

The image of Christ with the elements at the Last Supper is reproduced elsewhere in other early nineteenth century stained glass.

The left-hand panel is difficult to interpret. A man and a woman are shown with a child, and a figure can be seen peeping around the door of the house. Could it represent Abraham sending Hagar and Ishmael away?
