Two-light window with two scenes arranged across both lights. Above, Ruth stays with Naomi, while Orpah returns home. Below, Boaz stands facing Ruth, who is working in the fields, with other labourers in the background.

north wall of the nave (window number: nV)

Given in memory of Susan Catherine Venables (1823-89). The window may have been inserted as a pair with the neighbouring window, which is dated 1891.

Texts: (with the upper scene) 'Thy people shall be my people.' (Ruth 1:16); (between the upper and lower scenes) 'I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.' (Revelation 14:13).
