Christ with His Mother and Brothers and the Coming of the Holy Spirit

Four-light window. Two scenes across two lights show (on the left) Christ with an apostle (?John) and his mother Mary and a group outside a house, and (on the right) two saints standing while three kneeling figures receive the Holy Spirit, who descends in the form of a dove in rays of golden light.
The symbols of the four evangelists are shown above, with angels in cinquefoils and the Agnus Dei on a rainbow in the main upper roundel.

Text below the left-hand scene: 'Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.' (Matthew 12:50); and below the right-hand scene: 'Until the day break, and the shadows flee away.' (Song of Solomon, 2:17, 4:6).
The scene on the left is in memory of Anne Elizabeth Carter (died 1903), and that on the right is given in memory of Samuel Arthur Brain, a former churchwarden (died 1905).The window is effectively two commissions, whose subjects do not easily relate to one another and are both unusual choices, and particularly unusual for an east window.
