An Angel and the Virgin Mary
1982
Two-light window. A kneeling angel in the left light and the standing figure in the right-hand light of Mary. Both face left towards to the front of the church.
size: 38 cm (width of each light)firm/studio: Joseph Bell & SonChurch of St Arvan, St Arvans, Monmouthshiresouth wall of the south aisle
Probably added at the same time as the adjacent window depicting the saints David and George. The angel may be intended to represent Gabriel, but, as both figures face out of the window towards the altar, it is clearly not intended as an Annunciation scene.
