Signed with an owl's maker's mark, and the text 'Sapere Aude'.

Dedication: 'Remember Ernest Hollowell (1891-1977) Master at the North Manchester School from 1915 to 1940 and at Manchester Grammar School from 1940 until 1955. And also Florence his wife'.
