about 1862

Single-light window. Jesus in the boat with the disciples around him.

size: 92 x 36 cm
firm/studio: William Wailes

Fisherman's Chapel, Angle, Pembrokeshire
south wall

Stylistically the window would accord with a date of 1862, when Elizabeth Mirehouse provided for the restoration of the chapel.

Highly stylised, but nonetheless dramatic. The awoken Jesus is seen in the act of stilling the storm and rebuking the disciples for their lack of faith (Mark 4:36-41). The image is appropriate for a Fishermen's chapel close to the seashore.
