Two-light window with a wheel cross designed across both lights with text and poppies below.

artist: Anna Bessant

Church of St Llyr, Llanyre, Powys
west wall of the porch

Dated 2005.

Text: 'At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them'. These familiar lines are taken from a poem For The Fallen by Laurence Binyon, first published on 21 September 1914.

The window replaces a vandalised window behind a wooden war memorial. When the memorial was removed to replace the glass the memorial was found to be in such poor condition that the war memorial window was commissioned as a new memorial.
