about 1877

Circular window with some patterned painted and stained decoration.

firm/studio: Ward & Hughes

Church of St Cadfarch, Penegoes, Powys
west wall of the nave

The detail is similar to the border decoration on the chancel windows by Ward & Hughes, but they are not by the firm, since they are attributed to Powell's by a report in the Cambrian News & Merioneth Standard, 2 November 1877. The decorative patterns and style of painting is replicated in the other original patterned windows in the church. Much of the painting has since faded, although some is better preserved, or has been restored.
