Signed and dated by the artist.

Uriel holds the text 'The Angel that was sent unto me' (2 Esdras/4 Ezra 4:1; full verse: And the angel that was sent unto me, whose name was Uriel, gave me an answer'.

Given in memory of Arabella Ann Davies (1813-1923) of the Castle Green, and of George Stewart Berrington Davies (1899-1919), who died from an illness contracted while on active service in northern Russia.
