1914

Five–light window depicting the Tree of Jesse flanked by two three-light windows depicting Welsh saints.

Jesse is flanked by David and Solomon, with Abraham and Ruth in the outer lights. Above Old Testament Kings kneel in adoration of Christ seated in Majesty, holding a book with the text 'The word was God' (John 1:1). In the outer lights are the figures of Mary and Joseph, with scenes showing the Annunciation and the Nativity. In the tracery are two trumpeting angels with the text 'He ever liveth' (Hebrews 7:25), with seraphim, the dove of the Holy Spirit and the alpha and omega.

The Welsh saints depicted are Dunawd, Deiniol and Collen, and Gildas, Asaph and David.

Church of St Giles, Wrexham
east wall of the chancel

Installed with the reredos at the time of the renovation of the chancel. Given in memory of John Allington Hughes by his daughter.

The new glass displaced that by David Evans from the east window, scenes from which were subsequently reset in the north window of the chancel.
