about 1898
Two-light window with the standing, crowned figure of Christ welcoming a kneeling knight in armour, presented by an angel. Two doves at the top of either light with the word 'redemption'.
firm/studio: possibly
Heaton, Butler & BayneChurch of St Oudoceus, Llandogo, Monmouthshirenorth wall of the nave
Texts below the image: 'Well done good and faithful servant' (Matthew 25:21), 'These are those which came out of the great tribulation' (Revelation 7:14). At the apex of the lights: 'Holy Holy Holy Lord God Almighty'.
Given in memory of Arthur Neville Bosanquet, who died aged 18 on 18 October 1897.
The window is perhaps by Heaton, Butler & Bayne, who also made the window depicting the Good Wife in the church. A further window given by the same family, depicting an angel bringing a child to Christ, might also be by the firm. The imagery, and the style of the window, is very similar to many windows made twenty years later commemorating those who gave their lives in the First World War.
