Dedication: 'In loving memory of Paul Chancourt Girardot 2nd Lieut of the 52nd Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, who fell 16th of September 1914 at Soupir-sur-Aisne. Aged 18 years. Only child of the late Lieut Col. John Francis Girardot, JP, of the 43rd Oxfordshire Light Infantry, late of CarColston Hall Notts and of Mary his wife.' They also lived at Trevaughan, Carmarthen.
