perhaps 1890s

Three-light window with standing figures brought from another window, their surrounds removed. Christ is shown as both Good Shepherd and Light of the World, and Peter is shown with a book and keys, Paul with a book and a sword.

size: 51 cm (width of each light)
firm/studio: Herbert Davis

Christ Church, Aberbeeg, Caerphilly
south wall of the nave

The window matches the same group of figures in a window at the Church of All Saints, Llanelli, which is signed by the artist and confirms the attribution.

The window was moved in 1970 from the Church of St Illtyd, Llanhilleth, which closed in 1957.
