about 1859

Two-light window with standing figures of Simeon and Anna and, in the lower section, angels holding banners with the messages 'Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace' and 'She was a widow of about fourscore years who served God'.

Church of St Mary & St David, Flint, Flintshire
south wall

The windows are in the style of the firm of William Wailes.

Texts: In the middle below the Saints their names are written. At the bottom of the window is written 'W.W. died 2nd July 1839 aged 71. M.W. died 1st Feb 1859 aged 80'.

The window was given in memory of the parents of the Rev. T. Williams, who was Rector of this Parish from 1850 to 1860. They were his father, William Williams, who was a surveyor and lived in Mold and his mother, Mary Williams.

Although the figures are representative of the Presentation of the Christ-child in the Temple, the window is not a narrative scene.
