Virgin and Child
1958
Five-light window and tracery. The centre panel is of Mary and the baby Jesus in the stable with angels around. The tracery is a wonderful collection of angels in the night sky.
artist: Trena CoxChurch of St Mary, Johnstown, Wrexhameast wall (window number: I)
Signed T M Cox. The original design was to fill all the lights with scenes from the life of Christ. However, initially (due to cost?) only the centre light and tracery were completed. The rest was, unfortunately, never undertaken.
Text: 'Gloria in Excelsis Deo'. Dedication: 'To the Glory of God this Light was given by Rose Thomas, 1958'. (ObjectID=4323 ImageID=8081) Original File Name=PB080100a.JPGRecord added by Peter Jones, edited by Martin Crampin. Last updated on 14-09-2020
