Christ ascending in the centre of a three-light window, flanked by angels and eleven disciples.

artist: Roy Lewis

Church of St Michael, Llandre, Ceredigion
south wall of the nave

Signed and dated 1962 by the artist. However, the faculty papers show that the window was not approved and installed until 1963 (from information provided by Avril Thomas).

Dedication:'To the Glory of God, and in memory of Stanley Joynson, Dental Surgeon, 1897-1959.' (left-hand light); 'Given with humility and in love and gratitude by his wife.' (right-hand light).

Text at the foot of the central light: 'Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do thy will.' The text is a prayer of St Ignatius Loyola.
