Church of St Matthew, Buckley, Flintshire
north wall of north aisle

Text in the tracery: 'Wisdom, humility, brotherly love, gentleness, knowledge, enlightenment, faith, truth, temperance, diligence'. Left hand light: '1841-1963 Lane End Infants' School'. Central Light: '1849-1963 St. Matthew's Girls' & Boys' School'. Right hand light: '1857-1963 St. Matthew's Infants' School'.

This window was given by former teachers and scholars to the Glory of God to commemorate the church schools of the parish founded 1821 and closed 1963.


Aquila of Pontus and his wife Priscilla were companions and helpers of St Paul. Appropriate figures here as they were the teachers of Apollos of Alexandria (Acts 18:2,18,26; Romans 16:3; 1 Corinthians 16:19).
