Two-light window with the saint standing in a coracle on the sea, with a dog and horses by the shore. A cormorant stands below with the text 'Croeso i Decwyn Sant' [Welcome to St Tecwyn], and a vase of daffodils in shown in the lower right-hand light, in a jar with the dedication.

The window is signed and dated by the artist.

Given in memory of Frances and Richard Hughes by their children. The author Richard Hughes, who lived locally late in his life, is depicted as Tecwyn.

The saint shown is Saint Tecwyn. (The 'D' of Decwyn is a mutation in Welsh, as in Llandecwyn, so should revert to a 'T' here.) (It's not Tegwyn or Degwyn - the 'g' is either a mediaeval variation, or a feminisation: making it a girl's name!).

Editor's response: thanks for your comment on this window. I have changed the title and text to read Tecwyn as you correctly note the mutation. When I first added this window I wasn't aware that personal names underwent mutations like this, but have come across this subsequently. I did not know the merits of using Tecwyn/Tegwyn, but the latter is preferred in The Lives of the British Saints by Baring-Gould and Fisher, and they certainly regard him as male.
