about 1877

Given in memory of Sir Thomas Lloyd, Bart. (died 1877), the patron who funded the building of the church. The identities of the figures are not clear, although some identifications are possible. For example the bishop in the left-hand light appears to be David, with the dove of the Holy Spirit at his ear, while the king opposite in the right-hand light seems to be holding a harp, and is likely to represent the Old Testament David. Below him the woman with a sheaf of wheat may be Ruth, who is depicted elsewhere in the church. (ObjectID=2009 ImageID=5984) Original File Name=Llangynllo_MG_1615A.jpgRecord added by Martin Crampin.
