about 1912

Single-light window.

size: 61 cm (width)
firm/studio: Jones & Willis Ltd

Church of Emmanuel, Buckley, Flintshire
south wall

Text: 'I am the Light of the World'.
Dedication: 'This window was erected by Thomas Jones Bistre Farm in memory of his late uncle Edward Jones who died June 7th 1912 aged 81'.

This is a striking reinterpretation of Holman Hunt's painting. Here Christ is shown in the panoply of a priest, rather than as a humble suppliant.
