about 1886

Two light window with two standing figures of Christ as the light of the world and the good shepherd.

size: 108 x 38 cm (of each light)
firm/studio: Burlison & Grylls

Church of St Mary, Betws-y-coed, Conwy
south wall of the south aisle

In memory of Ludovic Ewing d.1886. Given by step-mother Alice L. Ewing.

The light of the world figure clearly based on Holman Hunt's painting, though here the image is reversed. The attached Biblical text is that used by Hunt. The good shepherd is a conventional representation.
